The Jim Bowie Days Youth Rodeo has a few important changes for 2026, and all contestants and families need to be aware before entering.
This year, all contestant entries will be handled exclusively through the Rodeo Ready App, making the process faster, simpler, and easier to manage for everyone involved. This will be the official and only way entries will be accepted for this year’s Youth Rodeo.
Another important change for 2026 is the new entry deadline policy.
The entry window will officially open on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 3:00 PM and will remain open until 6:45 PM each night of the Youth Rodeo, which is exactly 15 minutes prior to Youth Rodeo start time.
This means:
- Tuesday, June 23 — Speed Events entries close at 6:45 PM
- Wednesday, June 24 — Roping Events entries close at 6:45 PM
This new cutoff is important and will be strictly enforced, so contestants are strongly encouraged to enter early through the app and not wait until the last minute.
This year’s Youth Rodeo will take place over two exciting nights at the Bowie Rodeo Arena:
- Tuesday, June 23, 2026 — Speed Events
Featuring Poles, Barrel Racing, and Goat Tying - Wednesday, June 24, 2026 — Roping Events
Dedicated specifically to the roping events
To enter, simply download the Rodeo Ready App to your smartphone through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or visit Rodeo Ready. Once installed, create your contestant profile, select the Jim Bowie Days Youth Rodeo, and complete your entries directly through the app. Rodeo Ready notes that competitors can register, enter, and view rodeo information through the app, and live scores/results can be posted during the event.
In addition to entries, live results will be available in the Rodeo Ready App during both nights of competition, allowing contestants, families, and fans to follow the action in real time as results are posted.
