The search is on for the next young woman to wear the crown and represent Bowie’s proud rodeo heritage! The Jim Bowie Days Queen Contest returns in 2025, offering an incredible opportunity for local girls to step into the spotlight and serve as ambassadors for both the Jim Bowie Days Rodeo and the City of Bowie.
Each year, this longstanding tradition showcases the spirit, strength, and grace of young ladies who are not only polished in horsemanship and rodeo knowledge but are also shining examples of integrity, leadership, and western values.
Two age divisions will compete:
Miss Jim Bowie Days (ages 14–21)
Little Miss Jim Bowie Days (ages 6–13)
Age is determined as of June 1, 2025.
Contestants will compete in a multi-day pageant judged across horsemanship, speech, modeling, interviews, and impromptu questions. Not only will they be asked to ride a challenging horsemanship pattern and speak publicly about western heritage, they’ll also be responsible for community engagement — including ticket sales and appearances throughout the region.
Queen and Little Miss titleholders will represent the Jim Bowie Days Association throughout the year at rodeos and events across Texas, embodying the traditions that make Bowie great. They are expected to promote the sport of rodeo, the equine industry, and uphold the values that have been the backbone of this community for generations.
